Rice will be excluded in Japan-US FTA negociation

Mr. Kan, a chief member of Democratic Party of Japan (DPJ), said “Rice will be excluded even if Japan-US FTA is ratified.”

DPJ will admit that main part of agri-products will be included except rice, a highly sensitive product to Japan

Korea can so far keep rice out of agenda in KORUS(Korea-US FTA) because of the same reason.

Japan-Bahrain trade set to grow

Japan-Bahrain trade increased more than 20% last year.

With the possible contribution by Japan-GCC FTA that is expected to be signed next year, this trade will boost.

Manifest by Democratic Party of Japan

Democratic Party of Japan(DPJ)announces the manifest for general election held on 31 Aug.

It contains Japan=US FTA, which will enhance the relationship between two counties and catch up the slowness of FTA implimnentation compared with other countries such as Korea.

Japan-Switzerland Free Trade Agreement will be into force on 1 Sept.

Japan-Switzerland Free Trade Agreement (FTA) will enter into force on 1 Sept.

This is the 10th FTA for Japan and the first one with European country.

Import duty will be 99% eliminated within 10 years.
